USD 214 School Board Approve starting school 1 week late

In a special school board meeting today at 2pm the USD 214 school board voted unanimously to start school 1 week late to give teachers time to prepare.

First day of school will be August 26, 2020. New Teachers will report August 10 and all other teachers will report August 11 to begin to plan for all teaching scenarios: In person traditional, remote or even a hybrid model that could take place this school year.

The district conducted a survey with 79% of staff members favoring a delay and 72% of parents favoring a delay.
