There has been several calls received regarding concerns over a homicide or shooting in Grant County in the past 72 hours to The Ulysses News.

Here is what we know so far!

Three people were taken into custody on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 4:47pm after a vehicle was pulled over and contraband was found including a firearm.

The three people taken into custody are Johnathan Crain, Jackson Fisher and Marco Acosta. Crain is being held on the charge of Criminal Possession of a Firearm. Fisher is being held on drug charges and Acosta is being held on Criminal Possession of a firearm. *All are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.*

There could be more charges filed as the case continues to be investigated. According to Police Chief Alan Olson and the Ulysses Police Department facebook page, there were no shootings in Ulysses recently. A recent facebook post stated, “The Ulysses Police Department has received several phone calls regarding a homicide and/or human remains being found in the City of Ulysses within the past couple days. These claims are false and no such incident has occurred. There is no threat to public safety related to any at large murder suspects associated with these claims.”
