Monica Dawn Walker, 45, died Monday, December 21, 2020 near Garden City. She was born July 31, 1975 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the daughter of Michael Bond & Debra (Beohler) Walker. Monica had lived in various places throughout her life where she worked in various jobs. 

Survivors include four children – Austin Thill, Nicholas Paul (Neeko) Lang, Jr., Zander Lang and Zoei Lang; her father, Michael Bond Walker of Garden City; a brother, Michael Bond Walker II of Garden City; two half-sisters, April Gist of Amarillo, Texas and Katie Simpson of Ruidoso, New Mexico; and her grandmother, Esther Walker of Ulysses, Kansas. Monica was preceded in death by her mother and her grandparents, Marshall and Evelyn Walker, Bill Beohler and Beverly Beohler.

A Memorial service was held on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. A private family interment will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorials given to the Monica Walker Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City. Condolences may be shared at garnandfuneralhomes.com.

    I did not know Monica, but I do know Grandmother Esther Walker. This young woman meant so much to Esther, who raised her. The sadness at this time has to be elevated by the strange circumstances we are in. God will see Esther through this, as He is always with her. Those of us who love Esther need to pray for her peace in this.
