Brett Lynn Wooten departed this earth January 13, 2021, in San Jose, CA. Brett was born February 10, 1985, to Rick and Freda Wooten in Liberal, KS. Brett was preceded in death by his mother, Freda Wooten, who loved him and all of her children very much. Brett is survived by his twin brother Brady Wooten of San Jose, CA; his older brother Brandon Wooten (Donna Supernaw) of Redding, CA; older sister Alisha Olivas (Jose’ Olivas, Jr.) of Las Vegas, NV; his father Rick Wooten (Shawn Keith) of Las Vegas, NV; his beloved niece Angelina; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents who loved him and will miss him.
Brett grew up in Ulysses, KS; Rifle, CO; Farmington, NM; and Las Vegas, NV. Brett worked in the food service industry and in construction as a structural ironworker while in Las Vegas and later moved to California for work. Brett enjoyed working on Ford Mustangs with his brothers and many friends. Brett was a talented mechanic and an avid car enthusiast. He also loved animals, especially his former loyal companion, Sparky, a chihuahua, as Brett often loved to correct people who mistook Sparky for a rat terrier. His enthusiasm for “working iron” and working on cars developed through his relationships with his brothers and dad.
Brett’s remains were cremated on February 2, 2021, and his ashes will be returned to Ulysses, KS, where his mother is buried. When it is safe to have a Celebration of Life, family will share the date for that occasion.
