Phyllis June (Bless) Wilson, age 74, of Hoyt, Kansas passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021, at her daughter’s home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, while under the care of Oklahoma Palliative & Hospice Care.

Phyllis was born on June 18, 1946 in Syracuse, Kansas, the daughter of Frank & Lena (Smith) Bless. She grew up in Lakin where she attended school through her freshman year with her six brothers and one sister.

Phyllis married Donald R. Wilson on November 6, 1961. He preceded her in death on June 8, 2019.

Survivors include two children: one son, Barrie D. Wilson of Lakin, KS; and one daughter, Monica Joy (Wilson) Lopez of Oklahoma City, OK; one brother, James G. Bless; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces, and close family friends who became family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers, one sister and her daughter, Tina Rae (Wilson) Walker.

Phyllis attended Life.Church Online and was able to attend in Mustang, Oklahoma a few times. She absolutely loved listening to the worship music. She got the most joy out of working in her beautiful yard which was lovingly called her Garden of Eden. Phyllis grew the most beautiful flowers and loved mowing her yard. She had a special place in her heart for children and every child she came across fell instantly in love with her.

Honoring her request, cremation is planned. There will be a celebration of her life in Lakin on or near what would have been her 75th birthday.

Memorials can be sent to Life.Church or just give to someone in need in her name, as she was always very generous and that would honor her most.
