Robert Alan Berry, age 68, of Ulysses, Kansas, died on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas.  He was born September 18, 1952, in Denver, Colorado, the son of Stanley D. and Faye Z. (Claar) Berry.

Robert grew up in Denver and Littleton, Colorado.  He married Debra Waters on August 22, 1974, in Littleton.  They moved to Evanston, Wyoming, in 1984 and settled in Ulysses, Kansas, in 1991.  Robert established construction of powerlines for Intermountain REA, and Powerline Models in Wyoming.  He began working for Amoco in Evanston in 1985, followed by BP and Linn Energy in Ulysses.  Robert was an EMT in Wyoming and also for Grant County EMS, and was a volunteer firefighter for the Grant County Fire Department.  He served as treasurer and trained new firefighters for the Grant County Fire Department.  Robert was a faithful member, deacon, and elder at the Ulysses Church of Christ.

Robert is survived by his wife, Debra of their home; son, David Berry and wife Julie of Amarillo, Texas; daughter, Andrea (Berry) Morton of Ulysses; sister, Janet E. Park and husband Robert of Lubbock, Texas; and three grandchildren, Jason Alec Berry, Joseph Alan Berry, and Elijah Morton. 

Robert is preceded in death by his parents. 

A Memorial Service will be held September 11, 2021, at 10:00 AM at the Ulysses Church of Christ with Minister Warren Baldwin officiating.  Memorial contributions may be given to the Mountain States Children’s Home in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W.
