Ulysses High School Forensics had another banner day at the Hodgeman County High School Forensics Tournament in February. Adrian Escobedo finished first in Informative and qualified for state, and both he and Yuliana Vazquez broke into finals, both finishing third and sixth in other events. "Hailey Pantoja, Aaliyah Espino, and Karely Gamboa all gained valuable experience as new members and we are excited about what's to come," said a school spokesperson.

The Ulysses High School Forensics Team did a great job at the recent Liberal High Speech and Drama Invitational. The team took 14 of its members to compete: Blain Coffey, Sandra Rider, and the IDA partnership of Galilea Martinez and Miranda Vazquez all came home with first place. Karla Bautista, Yuliana Vazquez and the IDA partnership of Lilly Cowan and Adey Schneider finished second in their events. All of them qualified for state! Saven Rosales, Jesus Holguin, and Sebastian Heredia all also made finals, and Talia Flores, Julia Rodriguez, Elena Guerrero all did awesome as well. UHS took home second place, their third Sweeps trophy of the Year
