One of the volunteers at the pheasant heaven charities event friday gave a thumb's up while helping attendees park. The event had parking nearby and shuttled people back and forth to the dinner all night long. Volunteers (above and below) did not let the rain keep them from smiling and keeping things going.

A fall quilt made by barbara beeks and donated to the pheasant heaven charities event by beeks and her husband, garland, brought $1,550. Beeks herself has been diagnosed with cancer.

An attendee of the annual pheasant heaven charities fills out her tickets for the raffle part of the event. in spite of the adverse weather outside. there was still a lot who attended, however, organizers felt like their number was slightly down from years past due to the weather. The annual event typically brings in around $100,000 which is distributed throughout southwest kansas for scholarships and those in need due to medical costs.
