Becky J. Ellis, 84, died Tuesday, May 16, at Stanton County Hospital in Johnson, Kans. 

She was born April 9, 1939, in Garden City, Kans., the daughter of Charles and Alma (Patee) Clark. 

Becky grew up in Garden City and graduated from Garden City High School.

She married Wesley L. Ellis June 13, 1957, in Garden City.

After they were married, they lived in the Kansas communities of Garden City, Kalvesta, Lane County, Morton County, and then settled in Stanton County in 1965 where they began farming. 

Becky was a farm wife for 20 years before she went to work at Russ’ Jack and Jill and then as an Optometrist Technician for Hopkins & Hopkins in Ulysses and Syracuse, Kans.

Becky was very active with her grandkids and enjoyed watching all her family participate in all their activities including motocross and ballgames. She also loved to go to the casinos, dancing, and swimming, where she served as a lifeguard.

Becky is survived by her three sons: Jim Ellis and wife, Pam, Pratt, Kans., Steve Ellis and wife, Karen, Ulysses, and Scott Ellis and wife, Lori, Rolla; brother, Bob Clark of Ozark, Mo.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Becky is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Alma Clark; husband, Wes in 2019; brothers: Bill, Jim and Ken Clark; and sister, Donna Mader.

Visitation was from 2-8 p.m., Monday, May 22, at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.

Rosary was at 1:30 p.m.,  Tuesday, May 23, with Mass of Chrisitan Burial following at 2 p.m., at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses. Reverend Charles Seiwert officiated. 

Interment took place at Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson.
