CITY WIDE GARAGE SALE

Get your items ready for the city-wide garage sale planned for June 6-7. Call Ulysses Chamber of Commerce with the address, days and times of your garage sale by May 29 and they will include it in an ad in the Ulysses News.

FREE FINE

This weekend is FREE FINE WEEKEND at Grant County Library. Those with overdue books may drop the books in the return box.

FATHER'S DAY

There will be a Father's Day celebration at noon, June 13 at Grant County Senior Center.

CHAIR YOGA!

Grant County Senior Center offers Chair Yoga at the Center every Monday and Thursday at 11:30 a.m. There are also daily exercise sessions  at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 1 p.m.

VENDORS

Farmer's and Maker's Market organizers are looking for produce vendors to participate in the weekly Farmer's Market. All produce farmers are welcome! SEQUENCE CARD GAME

Grant County Senior Center offers Sequence Card Games at 1 p.m., at the Center every Tuesday.

DIAPER BANK

Grant County Library has a diaper bank in the lower level. Families who need a few extra diapers to stretch their budget until payday are invited to stop by and grab a pack in the lower level. The bank is built by donations from the public, so all sizes may not be available at this time.

PITCH PLAY!

ENROLLMENT

Hickok Preschool is now enrolling! Child must be 4 by August 31! Pickup up applications in the school office, 810 N. Missouri Street. Return with your child's birth certificate and shot record.

Adobe Museum

Come by the museum and see our seasonal exhibits.

Grant County Senior Center offers Bible Study at 10:30 a.m., Thursdays.

Bus Rides

Southwest Health Transport Bus update: We have seats available for patients who need medical services in Garden City on Monday, Wednesday or Friday that are not available in Ulysses. Please help us get the word out by passing along this information to your friends and relatives who live in Grant County. For more information, call 620-952-9667.

Free Donuts at 8 a.m., Thursdays and Fridays at Grant County Senior Center.

Gardeners Needed

The community gardens are nearing completion and it is time to begin putting together a Community Garden Task Force to help get if off the ground. This would be for people with gardening experience and a passion for gardening. If you are a gardener and would like to help, please contact Monica Walker at 620-356-1721.

BINGO!

Come play bingo at Grant County Senior Center at 1 p.m., Wednesdays. Cost is $1 per card.

Home Delivery

Grant County Library is offering a new home delivery service for seniors and Ulysses residents who have trouble getting to the library due to mobility, health or disability barriers. All circulating materials are available for check out and delivery. For information on qualification, and to create an account for service, call 620-356-1433

City Council

The Ulysses City Council meets at 5 p.m., the second and fourth Wednesday of every month, at City Hall. The meetings are open to the public. The Ulysses City Council consists of a mayor and six council members who are the governing body of the city. The City Council establishes policy, enacts ordinances, holds public hearings, approves contracts and authorizes all public improvements. .

Commission

Grant County Commissioners meet at 9 a.m., each first and third Tuesday of the month.

The Board of County Commissioners is a three-person, elected board that has overall responsibility for county government function such as budgets, setting policy, and performing executive duties.

School Board

The regularly scheduled meetings of the USD214 School Board of Education are at 6 p.m., on the second Monday of each month and take place at Joyce School, Board of Education Room. The meetings are open to the public. USD214 Board.

Medical Fund

A medical fund has been set up at Grant County Bank for Lucy Watie to help with all medical expenses.  Checks can be made out to Lucy Watie Medical Fund and mailed to Grant County Bank, 201 S Main Street, Ulysses, KS 67880, or drop off at the Ulysses or Garden City branch.
