Chamber Coffee

Chamber Coffee will be hosted by the Grant County Senior Center at 10 am, December 2, 117 E. Grant. Everyone is invited to enjoy refreshments, catch up on local news, and learn what’s new in our community. Next week’s Chamber Coffee will be hosted by First Dental, Friday, December 9, 307 N. Main. If your business or organization is interested in hosting coffee, call the Chamber at (620) 356-4700.

The School Board’s next meeting will be at 7 p.m., Monday, December 12, at Joyce School. This meeting is open to the public.

Commissioners

Grant County Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m., Monday, December 5, at the courthouse The meeting is open to the public.

City Council

Ulysses City Council will meet at 5 p.m., Wednesday, December 7, at City Hall. This meeting is open to the public.

Rec Board Meeting

Grant County Recreation Board will meet at 5:30 p.m., Monday, December 5, at the Recreation office.

Hometown Holiday Shopper

Will you be our lucky Hometown Holiday Shopper? You could win $400 in Ulysses Bucks to spend in Grant County businesses. Shop in Grant County and save your receipts from any retail business. Bring your Grant County shopping receipts to the Chamber office.  We will give you one ticket for every $5 of retail receipts you bring in. Each receipt is capped at a 100 ticket limit.  Receipts must be turned in by noon December 15. The winner will be drawn at 8:45p.m., at the Main Street Blaze.  The drawing will take place at the gazebo on Main Street. You must be present to win.

Core Community Program Meeting

Come hear Rebecca Lewis Pankratz talk about how Core Community is solving poverty in our small, rural towns at 5:30 p.m., December 5 at the Bear Creek Coffee conference room. Doors will open at 5 p.m. Cookies and fruit will be served along with tea.

Medical Fund

A medical fund has been set up at Golden Plains Credit Union for Solia Ochoa to help with medical expenses and travel. Donations can be dropped off at any GPCU location or mailed to GPCU PO Box 868 Ulysses, KS 67880.
