This past weekend was nothing short of extraordinary as we gathered at the Ulysses Scout Campground for our Blue & Gold Banquet and Arrow of Light Crossover ceremony. It was a day filled with celebration, laughter, and a few teary eyes as we watched six of our Cub Scouts crossover into Boy Scouts. What an incredible journey it has been!
Special thanks to everyone who made this event a success: Trina Fosdick from the Quivera Council, our dedicated Events Chair Jessica Reese, and Charter Representative Pam Hampton. A big shout-out to the local Order of the Arrow members for their fantastic assist.
Reflecting on our journey, I can't help but remember when we started with just a handful of children and adults. Who would have thought that this small group would grow into the vibrant and energetic program we have today? Watching those young scouts transform into leaders has been a remarkable experience. Jessica, I still chuckle at your request not to be photographed (which, by the way, we may or may not have respected).
Scoutmaster Eric Barb, brace yourself for this epic, yet slightly rambunctious group of young leaders. These kids are ready to make their mark, and I'm thrilled to pass the torch to you and your team. Our future is bright, and I have no doubt that these Scouts will continue to achieve great things.
Thank you to all the parents, leaders and Scouts who have made this program flourish. Your dedication and passion have truly built something special here in Ulysses. Watch out world, because these Scouts are ready to lead!
I am incredibly proud of these kids and have loved teaching them over the years. Here's to more adventures and memories.
