Eliazar (Elias) Degollado, 58, died Sunday, January 15, at his home in Ulysses.

He was born May 8, 1964, in Thorndale, Texas, the son of Felix and Vicenta (Luna) Degollado. 

Elias grew up in Texas where he graduated high school.

He married Dora Arevalo January 26, 1986, in Lamesa, Texas.  Elias was a self-employed truck driver hauling mostly grain.  When he was done working for the day he enjoyed listening to music and watching western movies.  His family was very important to him and he loved spending time with them.  He was a master griller and an avid KC Chiefs fan.

Elias also attended Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

Elias is survived by his wife, Dora, of their home; five daughters: Johanna Delgado, Yukon, Okla., Pamela Degollado, Wichita; Kayla Degollado, Mai Degollado and Mia Degollado, all of Ulysses; parents, Felix and Vicenta; five brothers: Alfredo Degollado, Miguel Degollado, Frank Degollado, Felix Jr. Degollado, and Ramiro Degollado; three sisters, Macrina Rodriguez, Consuelo Ballesteros, and Rebecca Chavez; and four grandchildren, Natalia Delgado, Jayden Urias, Camila Delgado and Elisa Degollado.

Elias is preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Degollado. 

Rosary is at 7 p.m., today, January 19, and Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., Friday, January 20, both at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, with Reverend Charles Seiwert officiating. 

Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery.

Visitation was from 2-8 p.m., Wednesday, January 18, and from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. January 19, at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. 

Memorial contributions may be given to Eliazar Degollado Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS  67880.
