Posted

The Delta Delta Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha international is pleased to announce that McCrae Becker is the Outstanding Senior Youth Award winner for 2022. Teachers, ministers, 4-H, and community leaders were asked to nominate outstanding high school seniors for this award. The nominated youth were asked to write an original essay on the topic of, “What is the definition of an outstanding individual, and how do I personally meet this definition,” as well as submit three letters of recommendation for consideration by a panel of judges. Each nominee was judged on the quality of their essay, character, scholastic ability, leadership, and community service. As our local winner, McCrae’s name will be engraved on a plaque that will be permanently displayed at Ulysses High School. She will receive a $300 donation from Delta Delta, and her essay was entered at the state level.

McCrae was chosen as Epsilon Sigma Alpha International’s state winner, a very prestigious award. McCrae is invited to attend the Epsilon Sigma Alpha State Convention in Wichita, where she will read her essay at an awards meeting, and receive a certificate with a $750 donation as the state winner. Her essay will be entered into competition at the International level.

In the twenty six years that Delta Delta has participated in this program, McCrae is the eleventh state winner from Ulysses.

Ulysses has also had two international winners, Beth Eudey and Alisha Buxman. The Delta Delta Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha is honored to have McCrae as their local and state Senior Outstanding Youth Award winner for 2022.
