The building formerly occupied by Thomas' Radio and TV Service has been taken over by a group of Ulysses ladies who plan to make art a paying proposition. The building will house an outlet for arts and crafts in the community, to be sold on commission.
A new patrolman will take the fourt to midnight shift, according to Police Chief Chet Snider. He is John Johnson, 26, a native of Wilburton, Okla.
Mark Carter and Lyle Rundell each wrestled their way to the title of WKEA wrestling champion for their weight class.

Five Grant County farm feedlots will be on the itinerary of the third annual Grant County Livestock Tour April 12, according to County Agent Marshall Walker.
Only 931 Ulysses voters are registered to vote in the city election April 2, as compared with 1,360 who were registered for the general election last fall.

The deferment of farm workers by the Selective Service System in order to meet food production goals for 1943, is growing in volume. In addition to nearly a half million farm workers so deferred in the last month, approximately 170,000 other workers were transferred to Class 2C and Class 3C in January alone, making them available for farm work.
