Posted

Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary met at the Cooper Clark Room at the Library on September 14, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. Nine members were in attendance: Sue-Ellen Borthwick, Joyce Briggs, Joyce Brom, Taunya Lindahl, Sandy Maris, Carol Rider, Jeryl Smith, Doloris Ungles, and Bonnie Walters. The Auxiliary Prayer and Task were recited. The minutes from the July meeting were approved as read. Taunya gave out copies of the treasurer report and explained the report.

Joyce Brom reported that 41 units of blood were donated at the Blood Drive in August. The next Red Cross Blood Drive will be Thursday, October 6. Volunteers signed up to work and provide cookies.

Volunteers serving at the Home Products Dinner next Tuesday, September 20, are Sue-Ellen Borthwick, Sandy Maris, and Bonnie Walters. Report time: 6:00 p.m. for the 7:00 p.m. meal.

Volunteers for the Free Cancer Screening at the Clinic on Saturday, September 24, are Joyce Brom and Bonnie Walters.

Fall Fest downtown will be Saturday, October 1, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A sign-up sheet was passed around for workers. We will again be selling cinnamon rolls at our booth. All members are asked to bring their favorite cinnamon rolls … or use a recipe we’ve used before. Copies of that recipe are available at the gift shop. Our booth will be located somewhat south of the Chamber Office on Main Street and to the north of the entrance of the La Estrella restaurant. This kicks off our Grant County Gives events for 2022.

Scrubs Depot will hold an event in the hospital cafeteria area on Thursday, October 13, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. A sign-up sheet was passed around for volunteer workers. This is another Grant County Gives event.

Auxiliary is hosting Chamber Coffee on Friday, October 14, in the Hospital Lobby. Jeryl Smith and Vana Campbell are chairpersons … and all members are invited to attend at 10:00 a.m. Chamber Coffee attendees will put their names in for a drawing at the close of the meeting to receive a silk flower fall arrangement. Plus the Chamber Coffee will be the beginning of a raffle for an additional fall flower arrangement to be awarded at the close of our Pumpkin Affair on Thursday, October 27 (also a Grant County Gives event). The two beautiful arrangements were created by Linda Lamberson. Thank you, Linda … outstanding work.

Details will be finalized at our October meeting for one final Grant County Gives event: our second Annual Pumpkin Affair bake sale on Thursday, October 27, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. All members are asked to consider providing goodies for that sale.

Looking ahead to November activities:  Geneva Linen sale in the hospital lobby on Monday, November 7; Auxiliary meeting on Wednesday, November 9; Garbero Gift sale in the hospital lobby on Thursday and Friday, November 17 and 18; and Tumble Weed Bazaar on Saturday and Sunday, November 19 and 20.

The meeting adjourned at 10:35 a.m. A salad and dessert luncheon was enjoyed by one and all. Our next meeting is Wednesday, October 12 at 9:30 a.m.
