JOHNSON- Authorities from at least four different agencies came together to arrest a Johnson man last week on charges of first-degree murder.

According to authorities from Stanton County, Micky Don Owens, 34, was arrested on charges of first-degree murder, in connection with the shooting death of Shawn Lahman, 44, of Wichita, Kans.

A spokesperson for the Stanton County Sheriff's Department said officers from their department arrested Owens at approximately 1:54 p.m. on Thursday, April 27.

"(Owens was) arrested on a Sedgwick County felony drug warrant in rural Stanton County," the spokesperson said. "Owens

was released to the Wichita Police Department shortly after and transported to Wichita."

Officials in Wichita say around 11:20 p.m., Monday, April 24, some of their officers had responded to the 1300 block of South Edwards in Wichita for an "unknown call".  When they arrived on scene, a spokesperson from Wichita said, they found Lehman in the front seat of a passenger van. He was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders, with an apparent gunshot would to his upper torso.

Through their investigation of what had transpired, officers said they learned Owens had allegedly driven to Wichita on Monday.

"He (Owens) allegedly saw Lahman on South Edwards, and shot him," the spokesperson said.

According to authorities Lahman and Owens were reportedly acquainted with another and had been involved in an "ongoing dispute."

Wichita authorities learned Owens had possibly fled after the shooting to Stanton County. They then contacted authorities there, as well as officials from the Kansas Highway Patrol for assistance in locating him.

Officials from the Stanton County Sheriff's Department along with the Kansas Highway Patrol, Wichita Police Department and Grant County Sheriff's Department, all worked together to locate Owens and return him to Wichita.
