School District Moves Forward With Popcorn Factory Trade-Off

The interior of the old Weaver Popcorn Factory has been utilized as storage by USD 214 since 2010.
The old Weaver Popcorn Company building in Ulysses has been used by USD 214 for storage since the district purchased the building in June 2010. But the building is so large and there’s more space than the district needs, the district is looking to downsize into a new facility.

City Creates Reinvestment Housing Incentive District

The Ulysses City Council has long recognized the need for more affordable housing in Ulysses, and September 25, made it a little easier for builders to bring more housing to town with the creation of a Reinvestment Housing Incentive District. The council got the idea because of interest in a plot of undeveloped land off South Main Street south of McDonald’s bordered by East Miller Avenue, South Glenn Street and East McDowell Avenue.
