BWMH Auxiliary Members Meet For June, No Meeting Will be Conducted In July

Posted

The Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary met at 9:30 a.m., June 14, in the Cooper Clark Room at Grant County Library.

The meeting was called to order by President Deloris Currier.  The Auxiliary Prayer and Task were recited.

Ten members were in attendance:Sue-Ellen Borthwick, Joyce Brom, Delores Currier, Taunya Lindahl, Sandy Maris, Kim Martin, Carol Rider, Jeryl Smith, Doloris Ungles, and Bonnie Walters.

The minutes from the May meeting were read and approved.

Thank you letters from two of the scholarship recipients were read.

Taunya Lindahl presented the Treasurer’s report.  She reported that activity in the Gift Shop as been steadily increasing these last few months.

Pink Ladies and Gift Shop scheduling was discussed.  Workers are switching hours and helping each other out to cover absences to keep the Gift Shop and Pink Ladies running smoothly.

The Gift Shop has been receiving new items and doing well.  The new jewelry items on display have been very popular.

There is a need to replenish hand made baby items for The Gift Shop.  To continue making baby afghans, more baby yarn is needed and color choices were selected for ordering.  Taunya Lindahl suggested asking people in the community who crochet if they would consider donating time to make one baby afghan if the Auxiliary supplied the yarn.

It was decided the Gift Shop will be closed for both July 3 and July 4.

Taunya Lindahl reported she would be starting the next issue of the Auxiliary Newsletter soon.

Scholarship recipients' proof of enrollment are starting to arrive. Some recipients have not had all the necessary information included.  It was decided to change some of the wording on the directions they are given for completing this information to see if it would help.

In trying to keep the community informed on Auxiliary activities and projects, we will continue to use our Facebook page.  Photographs and videos will be included to help encourage interest as well as to keep the community up to date on activities.

The Geneva Linens sale which was Monday, June 23 went well.  The support we received from our community was greatly appreciated.

Future scheduling dates with Geneva Linens was discussed with hopes of having a sale closer to the holidays.  Right now we are working with only two vendors, Geneva Linens and Scrubs.  Distance to Ulysses and lack of help has been a problem for vendors.

Future Auxiliary activities including Fall Fest were discussed.

A motion was made and carried to not meet in July.

The meeting was adjourned.  The next meeting will be at 9:30 a.m., August 9, in the Cooper Clark Room of the Grant County Library.
