LIBERAL, Kan. - The Liberal City Commission met in a special meeting at 11 a.m., September 27, with the lone agenda item being a 45 minute Executive Session regarding matters on non-elected personnel.
When the Commission came out of Executive Session, the Commission voted to terminate the contract between the City and City Manager Rusty Varnado. The Commission will be issuing a statement in the next few days regarding the action.
The Liberal Commission then met in a special meeting September 30, in which they appointed Scarlette Diseker as Interim City Manager.
