DODGE CITY, Kans. - Seventeen-year-old Cody Dean Ceniceros has been missing from Dodge City since November 24.

According to Justice 4 Cody Ceniceros Facebook page, Cody left his father’s home around 3:40 p.m. November 24, to visit his then-girlfriend in Spearville. Cody returned to his home in north Dodge City at approximately 4:20 p.m., called his mom, Roxanne, and proceeded to leave again. While driving, Cody posted a concerning video to Snapchat around 5:50 p.m., appearing emotional after his girlfriend ended their relationship.

The Justice for Cody Ceniceros Facebook page further stated Cody arrived at the residence of Cierra Boyce, in south Dodge City, at approximately 6 p.m.

Between 6:10 and 6:40 p.m., Cody’s phone was turned off. He has not been seen or heard from since.

His phone last pinged from a tower in south Dodge City.

In a Facebook post from Sunday, November 26, Roxanne stated Cody “has never turned his phone off ever before and has never gone unaccounted for more than a few hours”.

Now, several days later, Roxanne continues to seek answers and justice for the disappearance of her son, Cody. On Saturday, December 2, she read a prepared speech to a large crowd of supporters who showed up for a candlelight prayer vigil. “I want to reassure the community that DCPD (Dodge City Police Department) is using all resources available to them and have multiple agencies working on Cody’s case,” shared Roxanne. “My son is no longer listed as a runaway, but as a missing person. Whatever the case may be, I want my son home and I ask that the community keeps at it with the searches, handing out flyers, and sharing across social media.”

As the crowd remained silent and somber, Roxanne continued with encouragement.

“Although it has been nine days since Cody was seen, the fire and passion in people’s hearts cannot be wavered or discouraged,” Roxanne said shakily. “We just want justice for my baby boy. Please help us bring him home.”

Two sets of court documents were provided to The Ulysses News which detailed two separate incidents allegedly involving Creighton McCain, the significant other of Cierra Boyce. In the first set of court documents filed in the District Court of Ford County January 30, McCain was charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, three counts of criminal threat, two counts of aggravated endangering of a child, one count of possession of a firearm under the influence, and one count of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, stemming from an incident involving Boyce, which occurred January 27.

Most recently, court documents were filed in the same court on Thursday, November 30, which allege a fight between Creighton and Cody November 24. According to the same court filing, following the fight, Creighton allegedly said he was “going to take Cody Ceniceros home”.

An update was provided Monday, December 4 by Chief of Police Drew Francis of the Dodge City Police Department (DCPD). Francis addressed the public during the City Commission meeting at Dodge City Commissioner Chambers at City Hall.

First, Francis listed several agencies assisting on the missing teenager’s case, including DCPD, Kansas Wildlife and Parks, City of Dodge City, Ford County Emergency Management, Ford County Sheriff’s Office, Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI), Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP), Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), Beaver County, Okla., Sheriff’s Office, Edwards County Sheriff’s Office, Barton County Sheriff’s Office, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and Texas Department of Public Safety.

“We have all been working pretty much all hands on deck ever since the weekend prior,” said Francis. After giving a summary of Cody’s case, Francis shared details regarding the investigation. “We are taking information on the radio, right now, as we speak,” said Francis. “This is a very active investigation. There is still a lot of work going on behind the scenes that’s not necessarily appropriate for us to share in a public setting or, really, at all at this point in the investigation.”

Francis continued, sharing information on search efforts including ground, buildings, and multiple interviews, with more to come.

“We have not given up on this,” stated Francis “We don’t intend to give up on this, and we certainly would appreciate the public’s continued support.”

To keep up with the DCPD’s efforts regarding Cody, information can be found on a pinned post on the DCPD’s Facebook page.

“Our prayers are with the members of (Cody’s) family,” said Dodge City Mayor Michael Burns, in closing. “We appreciate the work of the authorities. We encourage the community to contact the police department and the authorities in the event of any tips they become aware of, and we will all continue to pray and hope for the best outcome and resolution on behalf of the family.”
