Furever Friends Group Meets Here April 17

Posted

The Furever Friends Humane Society of Grant County held their first monthly meeting on Monday, April 17.

The non-profit organization partnered with the Ulysses Animal Shelter in 2022 to find homes for cats and dogs within the area. Together, the organizations have transported several animals to new homes and rescues throughout different states. Furever Friends maintains a goal of providing shelter, adoption, education, preventative care, and fostering. However, these goals are not achievable without the dedication of the community and its people.

The meeting was held in hopes of finding compassionate people willing to volunteer their time and ideas to the cause of saving animals. Currently, there are several animals awaiting permanent, loving homes. Bailey is one of the sweet pit mixes at the shelter.  Unfortunately, Bailey was surrendered due to her owner’s health struggles. She recently had her second round of puppies at only a year-and-a-half old. Bailey is just one of many beautiful canines awaiting a new buddy.

On Saturday, May 6, Furever Friends is hosting Cinco De Paws at Big R. The Ulysses Animal Shelter will have dogs for the community to meet along with information on other furry friends that are available for adoption. Stop by Big R at 515 East Oklahoma Avenue from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. to help a special pup find a forever home.

Furever Friends Humane Society will hold their next meeting on Monday, May 15 at Shelton Memorial Christian Church at 5:30 p.m. The meetings are open to the public for anyone that would like to learn about or join the organization or to sign up to volunteer.
