Glenn Barb, 88, Ulysses, died Thursday, June 8, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kans. 

He was born December 27, 1934, in Hutchinson, Kans., the son of David Gawen and Esther Belle (Smith) Barb. 

Glenn grew up in Hutchinson and graduated from Hutchinson High School. 

He married Teresa Ann White July 22, 1955, in Castleton, Kans. 

Glenn worked at A.D. Rayle Motor Company in Hutchinson, worked summers at the Gerard Family harvests north of Coolidge, Kans., before moving to Ulysses and worked at Phifer Motors, Mesa and Pioneer Resources. 

He enjoyed tinkering and could fix anything, riding motorcycles, camping, and 4-wheeling in the mountains.  He was often seen riding around town on his electric scooter. 

Glenn was a member of the Jaycee’s, Knights of Columbus and Country View Baptist Church.  He served as Fire Chief for Grant County Volunteer Fire Department and volunteered for the Grant County Sheriff’s Posse.

Glenn is survived by his children: Tom and wife, Susan, Ed and wife, Diana, all of Garden City, Bill and wife, Tammy, Ulysses, and Karen Pfeifer and husband, Tim, Hays; daughter-in-law, Vicki Barb, Knoxville, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren with another one on the way.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, David and Esther; wife, Teresa; son, Charles; siblings: Henry Allen Barb, Roy Charles Barb, David Pat Barb, Ruth Mary (Suiter) (Peak), and Robert Wade Barb.

Visitation is from 2-8 p.m., Sunday, June 11, at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. 

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Monday, June 12, at Country View Baptist Church, 2478 N. Colorado St. in Ulysses, with Pastor James Berry officiating. 

Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions may be given to the Grant County Fire Department in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS  67880.
