Janet Pearson, 90, of Ulysses, died Monday, March 27, at Western Prairie Senior Living Community in Ulysses.

She was born May 18, 1932, in Larned, Kansas, the daughter of Emery and Jewell (Davidson) Windmill.

Janet’s family moved to Johnson when she was 12 years old, and graduated from Johnson High School in 1950.

She married Charles Orlin (C.O.) Pearson on July 15, 1951, in Johnson.

Over the years, Janet worked as a bookkeeper for Ulysses Co-op and was a desk clerk at Single Tree Inn.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and Shelton Memorial Christian Church.

Janet loved getting together with friends and played with many Bridge clubs.

Janet is survived by her children: Kris Pearson and wife, Gayle, of Overland Park, Kans.; Rhett Pearson of Ulysses, and Julie Boyer of Sunray, Texas; daughter-in-law, Janice Pearson of Goodland; seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Emery and Jewell Windmill; husband, C.O. Pearson; sisters: Charlene Garrison and Emeryl Morris; and son, David Pearson.

A private family inurnment is planned at the Ulysses Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the donor’s choice in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, KS  67880.
