Kindness is Free… Grace is Free

Life in the Headlights

Internet - love it or hate it, it has its purpose.

Podcasters, "influencers" and wanna' be reporters are popping up more every day on the Internet. I have to shake my head all the time wondering why in the world there are people who actually believe a word out of their mouth or their keyboards.

Although I am sure some start out with good intentions and some may even continue to have "good intentions", I still think a better name for them would be "pot stirrers" or "bullies are us".

A couple who come to mind each have their own Facebook page and unfortunately a following. They spend their time attacking people with name calling, other insults, and a whole lot of aggressive behavior.

They are notorious for attacking city and county governments, law enforce- ment agencies and more. Understand, some of the "causes" they claim to be supporting are good ones. However, the "journalistic" integrity is lacking to say the least.

They are quick to accuse and very rarely show proof of what they are accusing someone of. And unfortunately, they have a following.

I have asked myself many times why anyone would want to listen to these antagonists, and I keep coming back to no matter how much they may deny it most people like to see the pot stirred. They like to have controversy. And, some like to bully other people and see them get bullied.

The Internet has made all of that so much easier. Don't get me wrong, as I have said before, technology is awesome. But, if it is used incorrectly it is also awful.

Many feel they can say whatever they want on the Internet because they are not physically in front of the people there when they are saying it. They hide behind their keyboards, using them as a barrier to keep them safe from any consequences of their words.

That is why we all should be more diligent about choosing our words carefully. No matter whether you are physically in front of someone or virtually there - we all need to be kinder human beings. We all need to think before we speak, before we act, and before we type.

The bible says we should do unto others as we would have them do unto us and no words could be truer than that. Think about you. Think about your father, your mother, a sibling or your child - would you want someone to behave toward you or them the way they are behaving to others?

I would hope we would all say not just no, but @#$$ no. Kindness is free. Grace is free.

No matter what someone has done, is accused of having done, or quite frankly has never done we should always lead with the kinder, more grace filled road. Take the path that leads to making a positive difference, not the path that causes harm and destruction.

No, these so called journalists are not journalists.

They are mean bullies always looking for their next target. Always looking to cause as much damage as possible. And, the more clicks, the more money goes in their pocket.
