Local Man Dies Following Complaint

One man died following  an alleged assault reported Thursday at a home in Grant County.

Deputies from the Grant County Sheriff's Department responded around 4 p.m. Thursday, January 5, to a home at the Bedrock Mobile Home Park in the 2900 block of West Oklahoma.

"Three deputies from our office responded to the residence for a complaint regarding an alleged aggravated domestic battery," said Grant County Sheriff James Biddle.

Upon their arrival, according to Biddle, responding emergency personnel attempted  life saving measures at around 4:11 p.m., on a male subject discovered at the scene. The man did succumb to his injuries.

Biddle added there is no danger to the community and the public "has no reason to be concerned", as the male at the scene, who was also the suspect in the assault is now deceased due to self inflicted injuries."
