Marvin’s Farm Equipment Repair will be hosting the 3rd Annual David C. Meile Memorial Fish and Fajita Fry on Saturday, July 1.

Marvin and Pam Meile announced the free will donation event at the Chamber Coffee Friday, June 23.

“We are all family,” said Pam. “Everyone is welcome.”

The fish and fajita fry will be one of many attractions for the special occasion. Starting at 3 p.m., the entire family can join in on fishing, trap shooting, and other outdoor games followed by a feast at 5:30 p.m. A silent auction will be part of the event to raise money for the David C. Meile Memorial Scholarship Foundation.

Over the last two years, $70,000 in scholarships have been awarded, including to eight students from the Class of 2023. To end the festivities, the Meile’s will host a firework show at 9:40 p.m.

“Come and enjoy yourself,” said Marvin. “There’s plenty of seating.”

Marvin was surrounded by employees, family, and friends as he was presented with Business of the Month at the Chamber Coffee.

Marvin’s Farm Equipment Repair was established in 1974 and has remained one of Grant County’s most treasured businesses.

“They (Marvin’s) have no Earthly idea how much they impact Ulysses,” said Chamber Ambassador Nancy Borthwick. “They have spent thousands of dollars supporting every activity you could think of in Ulysses.”

Marvin expressed appreciation for the kindness from the community.

The next Chamber Coffee will be hosted by the Ulysses Stampede at 10 a.m., Friday, July 14, at the rodeo arena.
