Nanci Balderrama, age 47, died Monday, November 8, 2021, at Research Medical Center of Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on September 8, 1974, in Chihuahua, Mexico, the daughter of Ignacio and Patricia (Jaquez) Castillo.
Nanci grew up in Mexico until the age of 20 when she moved to the United States. She has lived in Ulysses since 1994. Nanci married Lorenzo Balderrama in 1991 in Chihuahua, Mexico. She liked to travel, visit Mexico, fish, take pictures, dance, listen to music, and play Bingo. Nanci loved her family and treasured the time she spent with her grandkids.
Nanci is survived by her husband, Lorenzo of their home; children, Jose Lorenzo Balderrama of Ulysses, Elizabeth Balderrama of Garden City, Jesus Guadalupe Balderrama of Garden City, Jonathan Balderrama of Ulysses, and Evelyn Balderrama of Ulysses; parents, Ignacio and Patricia Castillo of Ulysses; siblings, Antonia Castillo of Chihuahua, Mexico, Sonia Cedillo of Ulysses, Melina Berzoza of Chihuahua, Mexico, and Ignacio Castillo of Ulysses; and three grandchildren, Julian Lorenzo Balderrama, Yamile Balderrama, and Jayvian Jose Balderrama
Nanci is preceded in death by family members, Javier Jaquez, Ana Maria Balderrama, Simon Balderrama, Francisco Castillo, Josefina Balderrama, Rosario Castillo, and Jacob Saucedo.
Rosary will be Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 6:00 PM and Funeral Mass will be Friday, November 12, 2021, at 10:00 AM both at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas, with Reverend Charles Seiwert officiating. Funeral mass will be also be streamed live on Garnand Funeral Home Facebook page. Interment will follow at Ulysses Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday, November 10, 2021, from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM and Thursday, November 11, 2021, from 10:00 AM until 4:30 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
