Dona Rae Grice, 92, of Ulysses, died Saturday, April 8, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.

She was born April 7, 1931, in Orange County, Fla., the daughter of Earl A. and Verna C. (Gum) Smith.

Dona Rae grew up in Florida and moved to Two Buttes, Colo., with her family when she was a teenager. She graduated from Two Buttes High School in 1949 and was the only person in her class.

Dona Rae married Keith Grice on December 20, 1950, and they moved to Ulysses where she raised her family and was an active member of the Ulysses Mennonite Brethren Church.

She enjoyed being outside watching birds, growing Iris’s, knitting and crocheting.

Survivors include two sons: Forrest (Frosty) Grice and wife, Kay, of Amarillo, Texas, and Mark Grice of Ulysses; brother-in-law, Robert Hood and wife, Rita, Henderson, Ky.; niece, Lori Green and husband, Mike, and nephew, Craig Grice and wife, Linda, all of Lamar, Colo.; grandchildren: Kimberlee Setser and husband, Rick, Heath Grice, Jason Grice and wife, Wendy, Brian Grice and Johnnie Grice;  great-grandchildren: Lennon Setser, Elliot Setser, Arjelia Grice, Miles Grice, Jason Grice and Devin Grice.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keith Grice; son, Dale Grice; grandson, Jarred Grice; and sister, Bobbie Jean Hood.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 11, at Garnand Funeral Home, Ulysses, with Pastor Kris Humphrey and Minister Stuart Jantzen officiating.

Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery, Ulysses.
