Rene Yadir Figueroa Fierro, 17, died Thursday, June 15, at his home in John-son, Kans.
He was born February 2, 2006, in Ulysses, the son of Rene Figueroa Rojas and Maira Lizbeth Fierro.
Rene grew up in Ulysses and attended Ulysses High School.
He was currently living in Johnson where he worked in construction remodeling homes. Rene enjoyed playing video games and hanging out with friends.
Rene is survived by his father and stepmother, Rene Figueroa Rojas and Marlina Ortega, Lamar, Colo.; mother and stepfather, Maira Fierro and Ricardo Leyva, Ulysses; siblings: Isaac Leyva, Ricardo Leyva and Irma Leyva, all of Ulysses, Romeo Figueroa, Hayden Figueroa, Kihanna Figueroa, Ilianna Figueroa, Aitana Figueroa, Nuvia Figueroa and Emmett Figueroa, all of Lamar, and Elias Guillen, Johnson; and grandfather, Ruben Fierro of Mexico.
Rene is preceded in death by his grandparents.
Visitation was from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 20, at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
Funeral service took place at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 21, at Emmanuel Ministries Church in Ulysses with Pastor George Devora officiating.
Interment followed at the Ulysses Cemetery.
