Schultz Named Delta Delta Outstanding Senior Youth

The Delta Delta Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International  recently announced their Outstanding Senior Youth Award winner for 2023 as  Mika Schultz. 

According to a spokesperson for the local organization, teachers, ministers, 4-H and community leaders were asked to nominate outstanding high school seniors for this award. 

"The nominated youth were asked to write an original essay on the topic of 'What is the definition of an outstanding individual and how do I personally meet this definition?'," the spokesperson explained. "They were also asked to submit three letters of recommendation for consideration by a panel of judges. Each nominee was judged on the quality of their essay, character, scholastic ability, leadership and community service."

As the local winner, Schultz's name will be engraved on a plaque permanently displayed at Ulysses High School. She will also receive a $300 scholarship donation from ESA's local Delta Delta chapter and her essay was entered at the state level. 

"Thanks to all of you who sent in names or wrote letters of recommendation for this prestigious youth award," a spokesperson for Delta Delta said.. "Also, a special thanks to the local judges who donated their time and expertise to this worthwhile project. Congratulations to our new winner, Mika Schultz, for this outstanding accomplishment."
