SW Health Transport Bus For Senior, Disabled Passengers

Posted

The Southwest Health Transport Board was formed to secure a bus to transport seniors and disabled citizens from Grant County to Garden City for services that are not available at the local health clinic, medical clinics, and hospital.

The Southwest Health Transport Bus has seating for 10 passengers, with the capability to transport three wheel chair patients. The bus will operate on a Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule, for patients needing dialysis at the two Garden City facilities.

Patients needing eye care, dental care, cancer treatment, pre-op appointments for surgeries at St. Catherine’s Hospital, orthopedic needs, and other specialty services unavailable locally could ride the bus, providing their appointments can be scheduled on a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday at 8:30am or later.

Starting February 13, those using the bus’s services will need to be at the emergency entrance at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital at 6:30am for departure at 6:50am.

If you are receiving dialysis treatments in Garden City or know of somebody who is, call (620) 952-9667.

From 12 to 4pm on February 9, the bus will be displayed at the east parking lot of Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital. All are welcome to see the new bus.
