Make a difference.
I've always heard "if you can't make a fortune, you can still always make a difference." I know that is true when I see organizations like Grant County Gives, Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Core Community, Lions Club, Rotary, and the list goes on. It can be seen in a neighbor or even a stranger who lends a helping hand "just because", a teacher, a coach, a friend, a family member, a coworker - it's all about you, me and everyone else.
We can make a difference. The difference is, we have to take that first step.
We don't have to have a lot of money. We just have to have a desire to serve someone besides ourselves. Does it take time? Yes, it can take time. But the exchange from time to making this world a better place? Priceless.
And it doesn't have to take that much time or even cost a thing. Hold that door open. Give someone a smile and a hug. Tell someone thank you. Let someone know you are thinking of them. Cook that food, mow that lawn, wash those dishes, volunteer to help wherever and whenever you can. Not only will you be helping someone else, it can make a difference in your own life as well knowing you did something for another. If you can afford to donate cash - donate. If you have items you don't need anymore donate them. One person can make a difference, but just think what a difference can be made if we all make an effort? This world is tough. For some it can be tougher than others. We should all be willing to step up when needed. After all, some day it may be us who needs the difference.
