The Space Between Friday And Sunday

There is a part of Easter that doesn’t get talked about much.

We celebrate the joy of Sunday. We remember the sorrow of Friday. But there is a day in between that often goes unnoticed—the quiet, uncertain space where nothing seems to be happening.

Saturday.

It is the day where hope feels misplaced. Where prayers feel unanswered. Where everything you believed in just hours before suddenly feels distant, quiet… maybe even gone.

And if we’re honest, most of life is lived right there.

Not in the triumph of Easter morning. Not even in the heartbreak of Good Friday. But in that middle ground—the waiting. The wondering. The not knowing how things will turn out.

It’s in the moments when the work doesn’t seem to be paying off. When the effort feels unseen. When the sacrifices made for something greater start to feel like they may not have been enough. It’s in the long seasons where you keep showing up, keep pushing forward, without any clear sign that what you’re doing is going to matter.

That space can feel empty.

But maybe it’s not.

Maybe that quiet middle is where something is being built—something we can’t see yet. Maybe it’s where strength is formed, where character is refined, where belief is tested not by what is visible, but by what is held onto anyway.

Because Easter isn’t just about an ending.

It’s about a turning point.

It’s about the reminder that what looks finished may not be finished at all. That what feels lost may not be gone. That even when the outcome isn’t visible, the story may still be unfolding in ways we don’t yet understand.

There’s something deeply human about wanting proof before we believe. Wanting certainty before we commit. Wanting to see the result before we continue the work.

But Easter challenges that.

It asks us to hold onto something bigger than what’s right in front of us. To trust that even in the quiet, even in the waiting, even in the moments that feel empty—there is still movement. There is still purpose.

There is still a Sunday coming.

And maybe that’s the message that carries beyond a single day on the calendar.

Not just that hope returns—but that it was never truly gone to begin with.

It was just waiting… in the space between.
