The Ulysses High School Tiger football team opened its season at home Friday, Sept. 4, against the Syracuse Bulldogs.
The game was scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., but a lightning storm delayed kickoff by about an hour and a half.
Once the game got underway, the Tigers took control and earned a 60-0 victory over Syracuse. Stryker Berglund scored the first touchdown of the season for Ulysses.
Following the game, Head Coach Mitch Foote spoke with Bob Dale of KULY Radio about areas the team still needs to improve.
“We had too many guys or not enough guys. Our substitutions, we struggled,” Foote said. “We need to focus on substitutions and get the right guys on the field. Overall, I am really proud of this group of guys.”
The Tigers will travel to Cimarron next week for their next game.
