Timothy Herbert Gillen, 37, passed away June 8, 2023, at home in Edgewood, NM after struggling for three decades with severe debilitating stomach issues which developed after getting his vaccines to attend first grade in Las Vegas, NV.

Tim was born May 26, 1986, to Rhonda and Bruce Gillen at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, Calif.

He was a healthy vibrant, active boy who wore the wheels off of two tricycles during his preschool years.

Tim accepted Jesus as his lord and savior November 2, 1993, while sitting in his Dad's arms after watching the Campus Crusade for Christ Jesus Film. Without prompting by his Mom or Dad, but with the prompting of the narrator of the movie and the Holy Spirit on his heart, he folded his hands and softly asked Jesus to come into his heart.

Tim attended Edgewood Elementary Schools in Edgewood, NM. He was also home schooled by his Mom, and attended Moriarty, NM High School where he graduated in spite of his severe health issues.

Tim grew up with his brother, John Gillen, who now lives in Sterling, Kans., with his wife, Chelsea, and daughter, Sabrina.

Tim valiantly remained active and alive through is severe health difficulties keeping his faith in Jesus, and never blaming God for his troubles.

He loved visiting his aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents in Ulysses.

He loved the outdoors, was a remarkably astute observer of nature, an amazing photographer, a talented kayaker, and builder of exceptionally intricate Lego structures. He loved riding his Triumph Scrambler when he felt good enough to do so and he loved his dogs:  Bruzer and Grokk who were amazing God-given creatures and a great comfort to him. He was an expert gamer and very much aware of current events, with an uncanny ability to see through the lies and propaganda of today's media and corrupt politicians and deeply concerned over the direction his beloved country was going.

Tim never gave up! He remained faithful to God and despite his failing health was determined to be there to help his Mom who was in Hospice at home dying from terminal brain cancer. The day he passed away in bed, he was found with the walkie talkie in his pocket that he used to stay in contact with his Mom ready to provide any help she might need whenever she needed it. He remained ready to help even when he no longer had the strength to do so, and he did so even to his very last breath.

Tim kept the faith and went home June 8, 2023. Because of the way he lived his life in the midst of his constant suffering, it is with certainty it can be said he was greeted by Jesus in Paradise with the words "well done, good and faithful servant." "You endured, you held on, you remained faithful even when others would have given up."

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Herb and Lorina Gillen, both of Ulysses; his mom, Rhonda Gillen, followed him in death July 3, 2023.

Those surviving are his brother, John; his dad, Bruce Gillen, and his grandparents Bill and Marcella Patton.

Cremation has taken place.
