Two Vehicle Haskell County Crash Results In Minor Injuries

HASKELL County - A passenger in a vehicle suffered "suspected" minor injuries from a two-vehicle crash which occurred at approximately 9:02 a.m., Thursday, June 29, at U83 milepost 53 in Haskell County, southbound - 729 feet south of Road 10 on U83.

Authorities from the Kansas Highway Patrol were called to the crash between a semi and a pickup truck.According to a report from the KHP, Jose Edmundo Carreon Hernandez, 36, of Garden City was taken to St. Catherine’s Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Hernandez was a passenger in a 2017 Ford F350 driven by Misael Ramirez Silva, 30, also of Garden City, when the crash occurred.

Silva was driving southbound on US 83 when a semi, also driven southbound by Steven Ray Rosales, 33, Garden City, rear-ended his vehicle. Both vehicles were in the right hand land at the time of the collision. Rosales' vehicle, a 2000 Freightliner semi, came to rest in the east ditch and Rosales' vehicle came to rest in the west ditch on its side.

Neither Rosales or Silva were injured in the crash. Botyh  According to the KHP, all three men were wearing their seatbelts.

Hernandez was transported to St. Catherine's Hospital in Garden City to be treated for his injuries.
