Ulysses High School FFA (Future Farmers of America) students placed at state competition in May.

"We heard our name in the top 10 for horse again this year and stepped up a few in placings! Goal met!," said a school spokesperson for the group.

Awards were received in the following:

Horse Judging

Sixth overall out of 43 teams: Baylor Deyoe, Cami Kenny, Jayden Heaton, and Katelynn Rice.

Livestock judging

13th overall out of 92 teams: Baylor Deyoe, Jayden Heaton, Cami Kenny, and Trace Phelps.

Dairy judging

11th overall out of 44 teams: Baylor Deyoe, Kaycee Riley, Kaylin Lattimore, and Katelynn Rice.

"I am so proud of these kids," the spokesperson said. "Not only did we place top 10 in horse, but we were within range in livestock and dairy! They work so hard practicing through out the year for these improvements! We hope to bring even more teams next year!"

Following the competition the FFA team was gearing up for state convention as well as car wash and bake sale fundraisers.
