Vera Lavon (Gleason) Hayden (86) passed away peacefully in her home Monday July 31.
She was born Vera Lavon Basler to Stanley and Geraldine Basler July 25, 1937, in Ulysses.
Vera went on to marry Fred K Gleason in 1955 resulting in three wonderful children.
In 1991 she moved to Quitman, Texas, and worked at the Village Manor nursing home in house keeping for upwards of 10 years.
Surviving family includes daughter, Marilyn Largent, Quitman, Texas; son: RJ and wife, PJ, Gleason, Lamoni, Iowa, and Steven Gleason, Topeka, Kans.
Vera had many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Her family will have a memorial in her loving honor at Grant County Cemetery in May 2024.
