Memories

As I walk through the hallways of UHS

I see the here and now future

present images of the mundane

awakening future possibilities

tired students sleeping

energized girl playing games

reminding me of sleepy, summer days

Cheering fans

soaring through the air

With a bow in my hair

reminding me of those Friday night lights…

Encouraging scholars

Library books

The pencil that makes my fingers hurt

reminding me of where I want to be…

This is my here and now future

I must work hard

and remember the images and people that prepare my way

I cannot forget the old me

I look forward to the future me
