Volunteers Needed For RAAM Cyclists

Posted

Race Across America (RAAM) begins today on the west coast.

"Ulysses is hosting Time Station 23 at the Fire Station and we are seeking volunteers to help provide community information and hospitality to the racers and crews," according to a release from the Grant County Chamber of Commerce. "We expect our first single rider most likely sometime this Friday (June 16) and we will continue to have visitors through around noon on Wednesday (June 21)."

There are links availble on the Internet, where anyone interested can see the progress of the cyclists.

"That helps us predict when we think a rider will be coming through so we can welcome them if they stop and cheer them on if they pass through without a stop," the Chamber spokesperson said.

If you would like to volunteer to help provide hospitality to these racers and crews from all around the world, contact the Chamber of Commerce or feel free to just stop in and we can show you the progress of the race. We man the time station 24 hours a day from Friday through Wednesday and all help is appreciated.
