William Scott Prather, 55, passed away from this life Friday, April 7, while surrounded by his loving family at his residence in Bonham, Texas.
Scott was born June 13, 1967, in Ulysses. He was the son of Raymond Floyd Prather and Katy LaVern (Victor) Prather.
He attended Ulysses Public Schools. He mar-ried Shawna Mae Leigh September 8, 1990, in Ulysses.
He worked as an area manager for many years for Hope Concrete.
Scott is survived by his loving wife, Shawna, Bonham, Texas; son, SSgt Levi Prather, Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughter and son-in-law, Shaina and Bradley Podner, Sherman, Texas; grandchildren: Samuel Podner and Georgia Podner, both of Sherman; brother, SGM(Ret) Floyd Prather and wife, Donna, Ridgedale, Mo.; sisters: Kathy and husband, SFC(Ret) Daniel Hallagin, Lawton, Okla., Rhonda and husband, 1SG(Ret) Anthony Copenhaver, Temple, Texas; and brother, Marshall Prather, Lawton, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his parents Katy LaVern and Raymond Floyd Prather.
A celebration of Scott’s life is planned for 11 am, Saturday, April 15, in the sanctuary of Calvary Baptist Church, 913 South Fifth Street, Bonham, Texas. Rev. Lyn Holly and Pastor Titus Woodward will officiate.
