Wilma Love Davis, 75, Argyle, Texas, passed away April 23, in Denton, Texas.

She was born January 6, 1948, in Lakin, Kans., to parents Stephen Dale and Thelma Love Frazee. She was the youngest of four siblings.

She cherished her fond memories on the farm with her family. She married Max Davis September 27, 1964, and they had two children: Troy and Larry Davis.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her love and support for them were immeasurable.

Her hobbies included gardening, planting flowers, and researching family genealogy. It was from this research she discovered her pioneering and patriotic lineage that led to her becoming a member of D.A.R. (Daughters of the American Revolution). She took great pride in knowing her ancestral roots went back to some of the earliest settlers in southwestern Kansas, back when it was the “Great Prairie”.

Wilma was a strong woman of God, and her faith was an integral part of her life. She volunteered her time to various mission projects, including a trip to China, Tiananmen Square as well as many trips to Mardi Gras in New Orleans, to share Jesus’ love for the people. She found great joy in doing so.

She was a former member of Grace Church.

Wilma is survived by her husband of 59 years, Max Davis; her two sons: Troy and wife, Diane, Davis and sons: Tristan and Trevor, all of Argyle; Larry and wife, Teresa, Davis and daughter, Alexandra (Lexie), all of Prosper, Texas; two sisters: Ada Briggs and Fern Houck, both of Cimarron, Kans.; and one brother, Ralph and wife, Carol, Frazee Ulysses; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She will be deeply missed by all who know her. We are comforted to know she is healed, whole and walking hand in hand with Jesus and her loved ones.

A celebration of life service will take place at 11:30 a.m., June 17,  in her hometown of Ulysses, at Bear Creek Coffee, private banquet room, 107 N. Baughman Street, Ulysses, KS. 67880.

Please have any floral arrangements for the service sent to Bear Creek Coffee.
