Koy Jason Kenny was born May 16, 2002 at 3:59 p.m. at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. He weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces. Welcoming him home are his parents, Jason and Andrea Kenny and big sister, Kali.

Several Ulysses Junior High students visited Washington, D.C. on a four-day tour in June. They were: Justin Burgess, Brandon Schloemer, Nathan Meile, Trevor Bevans, Sara Cameron, Jody Weis, Jann Ferrell, Jae Chadd, Jiana Wilson, Erika Zimmerman, Melissa Pando, Jamie Young and Laura Messenger. Tony and Marsha Chadd were the chaperones.

The two sons of Cleve and Delores Currier placed in the Lyons Junior Golf Tournament recently. Lonnie placed fourth with a 103 in the 10-11 year old division. Clifford placed second with a 40-41 in the 12-13 year old division, two shots behind the winner.

That smoke you have noticed east of town is not caused by a prairie fire but by a Santa Fe engine that is laying the track into Ulysses, almost to the draw as we go to press.
