Carolina “Carol” Romero, 69, died Monday, July 27, in Ulysses.

She was born May 12, 1957, in Post, Texas, the daughter of Juan and Petra (Hernandez) Asebedo.

Carol grew up in Garden City, Kansas. She attended Seward County Community College and earned an office clerk certificate.

She worked in the Billing Department at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital, at Hickok Elementary School and managed El Ranchito Café with her husband, David.

Carol married the love of her life, David Romero, Jr., November 12, 1971.

She treasured every moment spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Carolina loved dancing with her husband, caring for those she loved, and relaxing while watching her favorite Hallmark movies.

Carol is survived by her son, David Romero III and wife, Velma, Ulysses; daughters, Michelle Romero, Ulysses, and Veronica Gonzales and husband, Jacob, Acworth, Ga.; siblings, Sally Ybarra, Plainview, Texas, Elvira McCloud, Dumas, Texas, Frank Asebedo, Dodge City, Kan., Eusevia Ellis, Lexington, Neb., LeRoy Flores, Altus, Okla., and Elia Reyes, Dodge City, Kan.; 12 grandchildren, Erika, Angelica, Alejandra, Eliana, Adriana, Carlos, Javier, Nayeli, Fabian, Gabriel, Elysia and Emelia; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband, David Romero, Jr.; her parents; five brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be 1-7:30 p.m., Thursday, July 30, at Garnand Funeral Home, Ulysses.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, July 31, at Oasis Church, with Pastor Rafael Franco officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery.
