Robert Bruce Carter, 76, Ulysses, died Saturday, July 6, at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kans. 

He was born December 25, 1947, in Garden City, Kans., the son of Robert M. and Billie M. (Elliott) Carter.

Bruce was a lifetime resident of Grant County. 

He married Laura Ann Graham February 27, 1971, at the Methodist Church in Manter. 

Bruce owned and operated C&S Radiator and Welding for many years. 

Whenever he had spare time, he was off hunting and fishing. Bruce shared his love of fishing and hunting with others. He especially loved to teach and share his experiences with kids. He also had an interest in taxidermy and gardening.

Bruce is survived by his sons: Bryan Carter and Tina Rodriguez, and A.J. Carter and wife, Stephanie, all of Ulysses; brother, Lonnie Carter and wife, Joyce, Great Bend; sisters: Stacy Taylor and husband, Richard Shrewbury, Stockton, Mo., Frances Smith and husband, Terry Cloud, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Gayla Lund, Ulysses; six grandchildren: Kyle, Elizabeth, Rance, Robert, Khloe, and Eleanor; and seven great-grandchildren: Bennett, Barrett, Elijah, Oliver, Kolsen, Baylor, and Isaiah.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Laura; son, Robby; and uncle, John Carter.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 13, at Oasis Church in Ulysses, with Pastor Andy McMillan officiating. 

Inurnment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery.
