Commissioners approved the 2027 budget estimated at 17,884,106, staying within the revenue-neutral rate.
The county’s valuation decreased from 144,910,189 in 2025 to 142,707,498 in 2026, resulting in a proposed budget in 2027 of 139,256,110, resulting in a lower mill levy.
The budget was adjusted by about $250,000 through changes to cash and resources, without affecting department budgets.
The budget had to be approved by Oct. 1, requiring a special meeting.
Commissioners discussed data centers, including special-use and conditional-use permits, PILOT payments, taxes, construction impacts, and decommissioning.
