Volunteers Beautify Downtown Ulysses

Posted

Visitors and residents to downtown Ulysses may have noticed that areas have been a "little spruced up". Flowers and other plants have been added in a number of areas thanks to - volunteers.

From east to west and north to south, Grant County has character on each block. Planted flower pots, full stomachs, and happy faces wouldn’t exist without the helping hands of community volunteers. Each event and amenity is made possible by individuals and organizations throughout our small, close-knit town.

The Home Products Dinner is the epitome of the phrase, “it takes a village”. Volunteers are essential to serving and entertaining those who attend. The same phrase could apply to the annual Fall Fest, and more.

Where would we be, as a community, without our village? Without the special human beings who dedicate their hearts to the elderly, the youth, the hungry, or the weary, what would we be?

Without the brave men and women of the Grant County Fire Department, who would save us from the flames? The answer is found within each question. We would be without. Grant County is beyond blessed to contain a community that exudes immense generosity and residents who step up to make a difference. Individuals and clubs alike help make Ulysses what it is.

Remember: The Titanic was made by professionals. The Ark was built by volunteers.
