CIMARRON – Ada Briggs, 82, died Wednesday, February 5, at her home in Cimarron, Kan.
She was born July 20, 1942 at Lakin, Kan., the daughter of Steven Dale and Thelma (Rider) Frazee.
She was a graduate of Ulysses High School and received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Fort Hays State University.
She was a Cimarron resident since 1978 moving from Copeland, Kan.
She was a Registered Nurse working at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kan., Western Plains Medical Complex and Cargill both in Dodge City, Kan., as well as a traveling nurse until retiring in 2009.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Cimarron and enjoyed gardening, flowers and working in her yard.
She married Joe Briggs November 20, 1979, at Cimarron. He preceded her in death April 6, 2019.
Survivors include three children: Mike Schubert and wife, Jackie, Lawrence, Kan.; Dana Manna, Holcomb, Kan.; and Dale Schubert and wife, Kim, Dodge City; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Ralph Frazee and wife, Carol, Ulysses; sister, Leona Fern Houck, Cimarron; brother-in-law, Max Davis, Argyle, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Wilma Davis.
Memorial services will be announced and take place at a later date.
There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place.
