Grant County Sheriff’s Department now has a full slot of deputies on its team with the recent graduation of Daniel Alexander.

Grant County Sheriff's Department recently posted on their social media site that they are "proud to announce that Deputy Daniel Alexander has successfully graduated with the 342nd Basic Class from the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center.

Alexander went through 14 weeks of training at the law enforcement center prior to completing his training.

According to Grant County Sheriff James Biddle, Alexander is a good fit.

"He has been with the department for about six months," Biddle said. "I think he will be a good fit for us. He worked with the County Road and Bridge Department for awhile and decided he wanted a change."

According to Biddle, prior to becoming a fulltime deputy, Alexander was working for them in a part time capacity.

As a Ulysses High School alumnus, Deputy Alexander is now serving the Grant County community as a full-time Deputy Sheriff.

Grant County Sheriff's Department is still needing to fill a couple of corrections officer positions. If you are interested in applying, contact Grant County Sheriff's Department.
